When it comes to insurance, we think about life insurance in general. But car insurance is also equally important. In fact, in some countries (e.g. UK), it is mandatory to have car insurance. Car insurance or Courier Insurance generally doesn’t include vans, buses or trucks. It depends strictly on what you prefer. The best way to decide is to see the offer details from both of them, and decide who is going to give you the best deal, with least possible hassle. Sometimes, buying from an agent is best when you personally know him/her, because he will be taking care of your say, premiums, from your home itself and will definitely help you during claims. On the other hand, the company might be better because you may pay your premiums etc online, without having to trust a mediator.
There are basically three types of insurance covers. They’re explained below:
1. Comprehensive : It is particularly for accidentally damaged cars. But most of the companies don’t entertain the comprehensive claim in case of drunk driving. Generally, this policy covers the total repair cost of the car. It also covers in case of car vandalism or damage in natural disasters. Some companies also cover damage caused by animals.
2. Third Party Fire & Theft: It is another type of insurance cover which pays the damage cost in case the car catches fire or is stolen altogether. Because the driver is at most risk, every driver you associate in this policy is automatically covered by the policy besides the original policy holder himself.
3. Third Party Only: As the name suggests, this type of insurance covers the damage done to any other cars also. Most of the companies limit the coverage of this policy inside the country itself. But some don’t have any such limits.
So these were the types of car insurance policies. They’re becoming more and more a necessity than just an option. Further, we can find cheap car insurance very easily due to the huge competition in the insurance market
